Danielle Hatchell has worked in the counseling field for over 20 years. She has a Master’s degree in Counselor Education – Community Agency Track. She is also a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and has experience in providing counseling, education and support services in a variety of settings. As a substance abuse counselor, she has worked in residential as well as outpatient settings and has been amazed time and time again at the resiliency of the human spirit.
As an Employee Assistance Program Counselor, she assisted civilian employees as well as soldiers with resolving a variety of issues that negatively impacted their job performance and quality of life. She also conducted training for employees on a variety of topics including: Stress Management, Anger Management, Building Self Esteem, Assertiveness, Dealing with Difficult People, Team Building, Meditation, Communication Skills and Conflict Resolution. She currently enjoys working full time in her private practice in Upper Marlboro, MD where she does individual psychotherapy, life coaching and group counseling.
She has a special interest in spirituality and uses a holistic approach with her clients. She has a unique approach in that she uses complementary therapies such as conscious connected breathing, Reiki as well as meditation in therapy. She believes that many of the crises we experience in life are actually spiritual crises, meaning we've come to a place in life where we question our purpose, value or worth.
She has worked with clients from a multitude of religious and spiritual beliefs systems and emphasizes the importance of respecting the client’s practices. She is an Ordained Minister of Spiritual Consciousness and was ordained through the Inner Visions Institute for Spiritual Development in June 2013. She is also a Conscious Connected Breathwork Practitioner and a Spiritual Life Coach. She believes that spirituality can play a tremendous role in resolving internal conflict and discord and in building long lasting relationships. Spirituality also helps us uncover or rediscover peace and joy in our lives.
