Monifa Battle-Carpenter, Ed.D has worked in the counseling field for almost 20 years.  She has a Master’s degree in School Counseling and a Doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology.  She is also a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor and has experience in providing counseling, education and support services to children, adolescents and adults.

She is known for her calm, relaxed and gentle demeanor when working with students, staff and parents in her work as a school counselor.  She has conducted several workshops for parents, students and staff on a variety of topics including: self-mutilation, motivation, personal safety and bullying. She has also served as a member of the school system crisis team.  She currently loves working full time as a professional school counselor for Prince George’s County Public Schools, where she does individual counseling, group counseling and variety of school related tasks.

She has a special interest in supporting children and adolescents that are dealing with grief as it relates to death, divorce and abandonment. She has experienced in her work as a counselor that most children are grieving an issue in their life that has not been addressed. She would like to support children in dealing with their grief so they can be productive, successful adults.
